VPS from Point Red: Low Cost, High Flexibility

Point Red’s VPS service allows root permission for each customer that has a virtual space, allowing users to install middleware, applications and programs freely as if they were using a dedicated server. Imagine having the features of a dedicated server at a much a lower cost!

At Point Red, VPS services are offered in the following three plans, ranging from 20GB to 40GB in disk space, and 512MB to 2GB in memory.

Note: Listed memory capacity is not shared in burstable form with other users, and is instead divided among each user (in non-burstable form).

Complete Redundant Structure

Point Red’s VPS services are configured in a redundant structure, a business’ top priority. From the network, hardware and power sources, Point Red is built for a service that you can rely on with confidence.

• Redundant Network and Firewall Structure
• Primary power for each server/storage is backed by secondary power in case there is a failure
• Each (VPS) server’s HDD backed by RAID-1
• Storage is backed by RAID-6
• Controller for storage is duplicated for redundancy

Managed Service (Option)

By regular standards, the customer will be “self-managing” the server and be responsible for maintaining operation. However, an option will be available for customers that prefer to have a managed solution by Point Red, where the customer will be provided with a PLESK control panel.

Virtualization Technology Provided by Xen

Point Red’s Virtual Private Servers are integrated with Xen, a virtual machine monitor that allows multiple guest operating systems to run on the same hardware without sacrificing performance. Since Xen does not emulate the CPU, it is a much more efficient source than VMware or Virtual PC.
